Magnets, Ducks and Superconductors
GAZEBO theatre-in-education company in partnership with Birmingham University presents an engaging way of teaching Physics. Sponsored by the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council under the Partnerships in Public Engagement Programme.

'Magnets Ducks and Superconductors,' teaches key stage 3, year 9 pupils the impact of science and engineering on our daily lives, on society and on us as individuals. Performances, delivered by Gazebo, start from mid September this year until December, and start again in the summer term 2011.
This interactive play is less of a scripted drama, and more of an immersive experience, therefore each time it's unique and refreshing. The learning outcomes of the play are a deeper awareness of:
* The role played by science and engineering in our daily lives.
* The issues facing energy supply in the future
* The rewards of careers in science and engineering.
The project has been trialled in 6 Birmingham schools and received by local press coverage as well as excellent reviews. "I wish physics was usually that entertaining," "the audience got stuck into the workshop, it worked."
